ok i see you Darious and Caleb. the twins are so cool I knew they would be badass for their elemental trials.

I’m so torn on who Tory should end up with. I really like her dynamic with Caleb, but there’s also something compelling about the idea of her and Darius. That said, Darius has done some pretty messed up things to her, and if I were in her position, I don’t think I could move past that so easily. As for Darcy, I really don’t want her with Seth, I’m all in on her and Orion. It feels like Seth is about to find out about them, and I can totally see him using it against them somehow, which is frustrating because they deserve a real chance.Geraldine completely won me over. At first, I found her a little annoying, but now I think she’s such a badass. The way she loves and defends the Vega twins is honestly one of my favorite parts, and I wouldn’t be surprised if something eventually happens between her and Max.Diego, on the other hand, confuses me. The way he went from being such a solid best friend to acting like a complete jerk felt way too sudden. It didn’t feel natural, and it made his character shift hard to buy into. And Lionel? Absolutely not. I hate him and fully hope he gets what’s coming to him.I was really surprised that Tory and Darcy turned out to be phoenixes. I had convinced myself they’d be dragons, especially with how much buildup there was around Tory and Darius. Still, it’s a cool twist. The back and forth with the guys is honestly one of the most frustrating parts, like, do they like the twins or hate them? Pick a side already. But despite that, this is easily my favorite book so far. I found myself thinking about it even when I wasn’t reading, which is always a good sign. When Tory and Darius finally get together, I just know it’s going to be intense. I do hope she doesn’t hold everything over him forever, though, because that tension can only last so long before it gets exhausting.I also didn’t love how limited Orion and Darius were at the end. The series keeps emphasizing how powerful Tory and Darcy are, so it feels strange that, combined with Orion and Darius, they couldn’t do more against Lionel and Orions mother. That part didn’t quite add up for me.Orion, though, is such a highlight his petty, sarcastic moments (like yelling at Tory while she’s hungover) are so funny. His dynamic with Darius is… interesting. It’s a little intense at times, almost to the point where it feels ambiguous, which throws me off a bit. I don’t mind emotional closeness at all, but the story kind of blurs lines in a way that feels confusing.Overall, though, I love the bond between Tory and Darcy the most. Their sisterhood feels genuine and powerful, and it’s honestly one of the most compelling parts of the whole series.

Excuse me I did not want to be more obsessed with this series but here we are. Darius is starting to grow on me a lot for some reason. Caleb too. Seth still bothers me and I'm indifferent about max. Darcy and tory are great characters. They're growing stronger before they realize it. Orion has me in a chokehold for being who he is. Diego I never liked, and feel bad for those who he is stuck with. I truly hope this series stays as good as it has been. Ps book 4 better throw me through a loop just as much as three did.
