In a world where the delicate balance between supernatural forces has been shattered, a fierce warrior fae finds herself caught in a web of chaos. With the truce between vampires and shifters collapsing, tensions rise and dark alliances form. The once-peaceful realm is now a battleground, and threats lurk around every corner.

Amidst this turmoil, the warrior fae must navigate the treacherous landscape of shifting loyalties and deadly rivalries. Her strength is unmatched, but the stakes are higher than ever as she confronts powerful adversaries and uncovers secrets that could change everything. With the fate of her people hanging in the balance, she is determined to reclaim peace, even if it means facing her deepest fears and fighting against those she once called allies.

As the conflict escalates, her journey takes her through unexpected realms and forces her to build unlikely alliances. Each encounter tests her resilience and wisdom, forcing her to reevaluate her beliefs and the depths of her abilities. The struggle is not merely external; her inner battle for identity and purpose intertwines with the fate of her world.

K.F. Breene weaves a tale rich with magic, intrigue, and heart, inviting readers to immerse themselves in a vivid universe where every choice carries weight. With tension high and the clock ticking, the warrior fae must rise to the challenge and lead her allies toward a future where peace is not just a faint hope, but a tangible possibility.

With this book, there is a clear pattern. In this series, we start off with Reagan who is deep into the magical world, Penny who knows about magic but little else, and Charity who has no idea about the magical world.Charity is just a normal girl going to college. At least, as far as she knows.Seeing Charity's life before everything falls apart shows quite a bit. For one, Charity is a much better friend to Sam than Sam is to her. I mean, this girl is actively talking about hooking up with a guy she knows Charity likes. It is very clear Sam never saw Charity as a friend but Charity saw her as one. It's kind of sad.And when the inevitable reunion happens, Charity isn't really hearing what Sam is saying and helps her instead of thinking about the words coming out of her mouth. Now, I've only read two other series from this author [technically], those being Demigods of San Fran [and Shadowbound Fae] and A Ruin of Roses [followed by A Cage of Crimson]. In both of those series, jealousy is not really a factor. But in this one, it definitely is.When Yasmin is brought in, it is very clear every guy is interested in her, even Devon. Andy seems interested for a moment before he turns his attention back to Charity and focuses on her. Devon even sets up a time to hook up with Yasmin before making the right decision. And then Yasmin just continues to encourage jealousy even before Charity really starts feeling it. I'm on the fence about using this kind of storyline. It works to get the main couple together and to help them realize how they both feel but it does give an icky feeling for me, especially when there is the suspicion of cheating. Even if it doesn't actually happen, the implication that it did or could just makes me uncomfortable. But that's me.But this was a good set up. This little series only has two books before we go back to Reagan so everything will come to a head for Charity in the next book. And I'm concerned about the whole part regarding Devon having to let her go. And I am wondering if it isn't as big as Devon thinks it will be or will it be just as big? There is only one way to find out.
