When The Lights Come On Again

Liz MacMillan has always wanted to be a nurse, but her father won't allow it. On the outbreak of war, however, Liz finds herself nursing in Glasgow's Western Infirmary. There she's befriended by medic Adam Buchanan, but it's another student, Mario Rossi, who touches her heart. Mario has lived in Scotland most of his life, but when Italy enters the war, it's only his name that matters. Liz is heartbroken as the 'enemy aliens' are deported, but the camaraderie of the wards is strangely healing. With peace, she has her heart set on Mario's return. But will he still be the man for her?
