WARNING: HAVE TISSUES ON STAND BY BEFORE READING THIS BOOK !!Tillie Cole's books have always made me sob towards the end but this one... She has me SOBBING from chapter 20 onwards. Like, I went expecting that one of the MCs would die because that's how her other books were (like A Thousand Boy Kisses and A Thousand Broken Pieces) but what I did NOT expect was one of the side characters' death AND both the MCs. Like, oh my goodness. After the book finished, I was still sobbing my poor heart out for like maybe 2 hours? Even with like how it's a story within a story and the drawings in it. I love it all. If I were to brainwash myself and re-read a book, this would absolutely be the one.
not me sobbing uncontrollably despite knowing how the story was going to end. this one broke me completly.
