André Kuipers is a Dutch astronaut and physician who has made significant contributions to space exploration. Kuipers studied medicine at the University of Amsterdam and later became a flight surgeon for the European Space Agency (ESA). In 2004, he was selected as an astronaut and has since participated in two missions to the International Space Station (ISS). His first mission, DELTA, took place in 2004, and his second, PromISSe, occurred in 2011, where he spent over 200 days in space conducting scientific research and experiments.
