レビュー

This book wasn't for me. I didnt like how everything you met someone new you had to get invested again into their stories. It pulled me out of the book multiple times.

This was something I randomly bought, because it is set in Japan. It was very good and I think exactly what I expected. It was thoughtful, melancholic and even sad. Especially the chapter about sisters that actually made me cry.Such a good read and looking forward to more in the future.

This is 3.5 for me.It was nice. I liked it enough. But it wasn't addicting or phenomenal to me. However I might be the wrong crowd cause I'm enough mental disorders into a lack of emotions. The 3rd and 4th story had me thinking a bit. Its definitely more magical realism than fantasy. It also didn't have some the time travel explained well enough and other parts repeated too often. It's wasn't bad. It wasn't amazing. It was just good. Will I read the next book? Probably yeah.

⤿ Reading period: May 28 - May 28, 2025⤿ Rating: ★★★★☆“At the end of the day, whether one returns to the past or travels to the future, the present doesn’t change.”This book enveloped me like a warm cup of coffee on a dreary day, filling my heart with warmth and bringing a smile to my face. Divided into four distinct sections, “Before the Coffee Gets Cold” offers a delightful and swift reading experience that whisks readers away to an enchanting café where patrons have the unique ability to time-travel, albeit with the crucial stipulation that they must return before their coffee cools. Within this intriguing setting, we delve into the lives of four characters, each grappling with their own pasts—seeking to mend broken relationships, find closure, or convey heartfelt messages to their loved ones through the magic of time travel.“. . . as the future hasn’t happened yet, I guess that’s up to you. . .”While the narrative unfolds at a leisurely pace and leans heavily on dialogue rather than vivid descriptions—a stylistic choice I personally cherish, though it may not resonate with everyone—I found myself utterly captivated by the stories and the poignant lessons interwoven throughout. The experience was a bittersweet journey, rich with endearing moments that showcased individuals from diverse backgrounds striving to reconnect with those they hold dear. Through their attempts, they come to realize that while they may not be able to completely alter the past, they can certainly learn from it and allow its echoes to touch their lives in meaningful ways.“I was so absorbed in the things that I couldn’t change, I forgot the most important thing.”────୨ৎ────⤷ Thank you for reaching to this point here and I’m really glad and thankful for you, love you ⟡.

What would you change if you could go back in time? This book is short and sweet. The story is carried by emotion rather than world building or character development, which makes sense giving the limited number of pages.I enjoyed seeing people with regrets and struggles being able to come to terms with their circumstances. By going back in time, they're unable to change the present but they are able to come to terms with their situations, and come back to reality with a sense of hope and in some cases, closure.I've read a lot of reviews where others found it sad, but I had a different experience with this book. This short little book gave me warm fuzzies. It's not necessarily life changing, but I did enjoy every second I spent reading it.

Repetitive and overexplained. It felt like a beginning of a mediocre movie where they try tell you the whole context in the first dialogue and don't give the space to figure it out along the way.The writing was very secondary school like but I'll blame it on the translation

Incredibly repetitive and boring.

4 starsso usually if a book makes me cry, its an automatic 5 star for me. I did in fact cry over this, but i fear it was just not 5 star material for me personally. it was very good though and I highly recommend. THE ENDING 🙁

1.5⭐I have nothing about this except that I found the story really boring and got nothing out of it. if I wasn't reading via audio I probably would've DNFed

This whole experience just felt... Ethereal. Heartwarming. Cosy and light. I loved it so much! It's a 4.5⭐ simply because of my lack of experience with this type of writing *I don't have a proper adjective for it* that made it a bit hard to follow at times. But I enjoyed every second of it.
