The stakes are higher than ever. Sometimes you work and work and work and the tide just isn’t in your favor. I read this book in tandem with Tower of Dawn, and thank god I did. That ending will have you screaming!

⚠️ This review is the result of a tandem read - no spoilers, but it means it contains my opinion of EoS and ToD as a whole ⚠️Honestly, it's really hard to provide two separate reviews for EoS and ToD, so I'll do my best to share what I think.I loved the tandem read, but being two books merged into one makes it very slow-paced for the first half, which is quite a big chunk.EoS is full of strategy, revelations, drama and that tad bit of romance that makes it chef's kiss. ToD, on the other hand, feels like a book completely disconnected from the main storyline. It follows two characters and introduces many more into play - there is romance, adventure, danger, redemption. At some point I actually found myself more invested in ToD than EoS, although I don't think I would have loved it as much if I had read these books separately. And this is not because ToD is a terrible book.Other than what I mentioned above, we all know SJM's writing - the last 10-15% of her books are packed with action. The cliffhanger in EoS is so shocking that, had I read them separately, I wouldn't have cared as much about ToD's dynamics and revelations. I personally would have just wanted to find out how it ends.The tandem was the slowest read of all the books so far for me, but SJM managed to fill it with vital information and great storytelling!
It just keeps getting better! This is the best book so far in the series, and that is saying something, as most of the books in Throne of Glass are 4 to 5 stars. I can’t wait to read the last two!

Саре Маас я за эту книгу готова расцеловать руки. При прочтении я испытала наверное все эмоции, на которые была способна. Все здесь было прекрасно: и любовные линии (особенно Дориана и Манон), и раскрытие каждого персонажа по отдельности, и сюжетные повороты. Ну кто бы не захотел такую подругу, как Лисандра, и чтобы мужчина совершал ритуал преклонения перед тобой, как Рован. Аэлина не перестает удивлять своими поступками, за что я и люблю ее бесконечно. Она не толко королева Террасена, она еще и королева моего сердечка. Финал просто раскрошил меня на крохотные осколки.
Este libro me entretuvo y me aburrió al mismo tiempo, ya que tenía momentos muy lentos y otros en los que ocurría de todo. Pero lo mejor, sin duda, fue el final, porque, como siempre, te deja con altas expectativas para el siguiente libro.
