説明
The narrative follows a team of four women, each with their own complexities and motivations, who embark on an expedition into this alien territory. As their journey unfolds, they encounter the astonishing and often unsettling transformations of the landscape, where the borders of reality blur and the environment challenges their perceptions. The flora and fauna seem to evoke an otherworldly presence, hinting at underlying forces that transcend rational explanation.
As the expedition progresses, the characters grapple with their inner demons while confronting the eerie phenomena of Area X. The psychological tension builds, mirroring the uncanniness of the world around them. Through this haunting tale, the boundaries of survival, identity, and the unknown are explored, leaving readers questioning what lies beneath the surface of their own understanding.

すべて表示I didn't know whether or not I would like the book but I did very much. It was surprisingly short but I felt that this was just right. This ensured the words on the page were worth it.The descriptive writing was excellent. Area X is a strange place which reminded me of the area in [b:Roadside Picnic|331256|Roadside Picnic|Arkady Strugatsky|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1173812259s/331256.jpg|1243896] (and the film Stalker). I felt as though I was there and I could visualise the creatures, the coastline and the tower. However, I didn't really warm to any of the characters. I didn't really feel for the main character the biologist, though I felt more for her husband as I learnt about him.I found it a page turner and the climax was perfect. I will be reading the next in the series. I toyed with giving it 5 stars but I save 5 stars for 'wow' books. This was almost there...
