Autumn's Daddy

Autumn Season has no plans to stay in Willow Valley, North Carolina. Too many bad memories, and she doesn't need to reignite the terrifying flashbacks by sticking around the small town that was never really home to her. She's only back because her oldest sister called an emergency family meeting, and she has big news of her own. But she's still reeling from that revelation herself, and it may take some time before she's ready to share. Besides, it would be nice to have a soft place to land for a while. Just until she knows what to expect, even if it is the unexpected. Like seeing Riggs Bartlett again, the boy forever imprinted on her young heart.

Riggs Bartlett refused to let the car crash that killed his parents and forced him into a group home at fourteen destroy him. After aging out of the system, he worked hard to earn his firefighting degree and climb the ranks to captain. In the fire service, he discovered his purpose, found a new family, and is thriving in his newfound faith. When his crew is called out to an unconscious person, he's surprised to find that the patient is Autumn, the girl from the group home who motivated him to overcome his circumstances, to become something, the girl he'd hoped to marry until she vanished after graduation.

Autumn isn't the same girl he's dreamed of all these years, but his love didn't die with her disappearance. He trusts that God brought her back into his life, and he's finally able to give her the stability, the home and family they both so desperately crave. Is his love--and faith--enough to keep her in Willow Valley where she belongs? Or will fear and shame send her running again?
