I loved this book. Written with a mix of comedy and gravity, the tales of Trevor Noah's childhood are a fascinating look at what it was like to grow up under apartheid as the son of a African woman and a Swedish man. I enjoyed the history, political commentary, childhood stories, and even the notes on domestic violence in the story, but the highlight of this book is the respect and love Trevor Noah clearly has for his mother. She comes through as the shining star of the story - one could even argue there is more of her in this book than Trevor himself. I would love a sequel where we follow Trevor on his journey of getting into comedy/being a stand up comedian, what it was like to see the world and eventually getting the job at the Daily Show too.
