説明

In a small, unassuming neighborhood, life takes an unexpected turn for one unsuspecting resident when a new neighbor moves in next door. With a reputation that precedes him and an air of confidence that can’t be ignored, this neighbor quickly becomes the talk of the town. As they navigate the intricacies of living next to such a charismatic character, the protagonist discovers that not all is as it seems behind the charming facade.

As their lives intertwine, tension mounts and playful rivalries emerge. The protagonist finds themselves drawn into a whirlwind of witty banter and unexpected challenges. Each encounter reveals deeper layers of their personalities, making it hard to distinguish between love and irritation. The line between friendship and rivalry blurs, leading them on a tumultuous journey filled with heartfelt moments and unexpected revelations.

What begins as a simple neighborly relationship evolves into an engaging tale of rivalry, passion, and self-discovery. With every move and countermove, the stakes grow higher, culminating in a thrilling game of checkmate where hearts are at risk and the rules of the game are constantly shifting.

Checkmate is hands down one of my favorite romance books! ❤️😂The banter? Absolutely unmatched. Half the time I was laughing out loud, and the other half I was grinning like an idiot waiting for the next argument. Jason and Haley's constant back-and-forth was pure entertainment, and their chemistry jumped right off the page.I'm a sucker for enemies-to-lovers, and this book delivered everything I love about the trope. The teasing, the stubbornness, the slow realization that they actually care about each other—it was perfection. And of course, it wouldn't be a Bradford book without the food obsession and complete chaos. The humor felt effortless, making this one of those rare books that's just as funny as it is romantic.
