説明

This book is written as a practical guide for embedded systems engineers who are designing embedded products that require wireless communications. It specifically focuses on RF communications (not infrared). This is a new and rapidly growing area in embedded technology. This book does not show readers how to design transmitters, receivers, and transceivers since adding wireless capability to embedded designs usually involves using "off the shelf" modules. However, a basic understanding of RF and wireless is necessary to select the appropriate module for a given application and incorporate it successfully into an embedded design. This book does discuss the operating principles of transmitters, receivers, and transceivers so readers can easily select and apply the proper technology. Wireless protocol development, microcontroller interfacing, and power consumption are other critical topics that are discussed.
At the end of the book, several wirelss projects are presented which employ the principles presented. Specifically, the book shows the reader how to design a temperature-monitoring network, a 4-button remote control, and a full-duplex intercom system that combines voice and data in the same channel.

*this is the only book available on this topic!

*embedded designers will no longer need to wade through general RF/wireless books searching for information that applies to them- this book is written just for them

*wireless projects are included at the end of the book, so that designers can put their new knowledge into practice right away
