I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Every Last Secret by A R Torre was by far the craziest yet entertaining book I read since the start of the year. The story introduces Cat Winthorpe, who has it all. Wealth, a successful and handsome husband who is crazy about her, a gorgeous home and reputable position in the community. Cat has worked hard for this status and would protect it by whatever means possible, something which Neena Ryder will learn in the cruellest yet satisfying manner.Cat’s husband, William, hired Neena, a life coach to aid in motivating his staff as they aim to meet a project deadline. Her intentions, however involved more than life coaching. Her aim, seduce Cat’s husband, hoping to steal her life.I expected a story filled with secrets, but boy oh boy I got more than I expected. This was my first time reading this author, and colour me impressed. The characters featured within this story are not ones I would want to encounter in reality. Yes, they were obnoxious, conniving and despicable.Feeling any form of sympathy towards these characters proved an exercise in futility. Regarding Neena’s husband, at one point I felt sympathetic to the manner in which she treated him, but as the story progressed the feeling dissipated as he proved to be spineless, insecure and pathetic. The tale which unfolded was both crazy and mesmerizing. It was a colossal head on collision, yet I could not look away. I had to know how it would all come together in the end. I thought I knew what was happening, but nothing was what I thought it to be. The author left me speechless with the turn of events.Narrated by Carly Robins, Amy Landon and Tristan James. I cannot say which of the narrators narrated Cat and Neenas’ voice. However, despite not having knowledge of this, I thought they ok in bringing across the cattiness and the sense of entitlement both characters displayed. The male narrator did not add any value to the overall narration as he only narrated two chapters in the entire story. His narration took me by complete surprise after spending most of the story listening to Robins and Landon.Overall, an interesting read/listen and one I would recommend to readers/listeners who enjoy riveting stories which feature unlikeable characters. I would definitely read more of this author’s work. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading
