[Spoiler Free Review]Great novel! I've watched the first season of the animation first and the animation covers the whole first book. Even if you already watched it, I think reading the novel is still worth it.I am a little familiar with chinese storytelling, the overall terms and structure so the book wasn't completely overwhelming. But if you are not familiar the book still does a great job of explaining most things and it includes a detailed glossary not just of the character but chinese terms in general.Our main characters are intriguing and have great chemistry. Their first scene in the forest walking without speaking? Leaves me in awe everytime, it was one of the most beautiful scenes in the animation I've ever seen and one of the most romantic things I've read. Even if chinese media is not allowed/scared to show affection, especially between same-sex pairings, they still manage to build up amazing atmosphere between characters.
