In 1786, Captain William Rennie finds himself in a rather unceremonious spot-on the beach and living off half pay. Just when it seems like his days of high-seas adventure are behind him, fate intervenes with an unexpected opportunity. He’s offered a prime commission aboard the HMS Expedient, yanking him back from the clutches of a mundane life.
As he embarks on this new journey, Rennie must navigate the political tensions and personal stakes that come with commanding a ship in turbulent waters. The thrill of adventure beckons, but so do challenges that will test his mettle, leadership, and perhaps even his sense of self. With every wave he encounters, William dives deeper into a world of bravery, camaraderie, and the undeniable allure of the open sea.
