説明

Automation is everywhere – in our kitchens, cars, leisure centres and workplaces. We now take automated appliances such as dish washers, personal computers, advanced breaking systems and mobile phones for granted. They add value to our lives by doing unwanted tasks, getting things done faster and providing us with communications while on the move. Industry, that provides all of these technologies, is one of the richest environments for automation. Automation is used in factories to transport and store goods, machine and assemble products, communicate design specifications and to provide real time communications through the use a complex networks of sensors, actuators and controllers. Automation provides industry with the strategic weapon to reducing lead times, improving quality, and ultimately reduce costs that make products more competitive around the world. In most economies, where cheap labour is no longer available, automation is essential for productivity.
