I was intrigued from the first chapter. Short chapters told from multiple character POVs help piece together the story from different angles and I love the way it all came together. Some of the twists I saw coming and some I didn’t. I will say, the biggest reveal happens closer to the middle of the book and it seemed to drag a little after that, but picked back up in the final few chapters and I really liked the ending. Overall, this is a solid, entertaining read that managed to be both thrilling and a heartbreaking look at grief, trauma, and the sometimes injustice of the justice system.
This book started out kinda slowish but not in a bad way. I liked that it spent time building the characters and giving a solid foundation as to who they are and what they've been through. There's some really good moments that had me like "wait WTF?!?" Which elevated this book to new heights and will make it memorable amongst the many thrillers I've read now.Definitely recommend this if you want a solid thriller with well written characters.
