説明

This is the continuation of the Bear and the Nightingale, and it manages to be just as heartbreaking and dark as the first. The old gods are dying, and people and other gods are there to try and take their place. Somehow, Vasya manages to take the hardest path every time, and still keeps fighting. I love this series and its characters so much, and I am excited to read the next in the series.

Honestly, I've been going through other people's reviews of this book, and I know I'm in the minority, but I just can't rate this book any higher, which is sad, because I LOVED the first one.It was incredibly boring. I could hardly get through a chapter without putting the book down at least once.I knew, from the first book, that the storytelling would be slow, but at least with the first one we get thrown into the Russian folklore, getting to know all kinds of different, interesting entities. All the action came at the end. But I was more than ok with it, because it was a beautiful book and lovely to read. But this one.....I just couldn't understand the purpose of this book. I got to the half point of the book and absolutely nothing of interest had happened yet. We aren't even gifted with more of the Russian folklore we had in the first one, I just can't connect with the characters and the way they relate to one another, and making Morozko fall in love with Vasya was just unnecessary for me.I truly wanted to like this. I'm disappointed.
