This book detailing the Holocaust really struck me and after reading this I have gone on to watch some of the speeches Eddie has made on it. Both the book and speeches give an important and moving insight into not only what it was to be a victim of the Holocaust but also a survivor. Eddie talks of the horrors of war and how he strives to overcome these and as a survivor, makes the most of the life he has been given, to ensure he is the happiest man alive. When you have seen horrors such as he has, you can no longer take for granted the simplest of things such as family, food, and friends. Eddie's story is one that I will not forget and has made me feel more appreciative for the life which I have been given. Those who lost their lives will not be forgotten, not Will those who survived.
