Orlando embarks on a breathtaking journey through time and identity, beginning as a spirited young nobleman immersed in the vibrant revelries of early life. His existence is marked by extravagance and a boundless desire for adventure, navigating the tumultuous waters of love and art in an ever-changing world.

As the narrative unfolds, Orlando undergoes an astonishing transformation that shatters traditional norms of gender and society. With each new era, he adapts and evolves, embracing different identities that challenge the conventions of his time. The exploration of self-discovery and the fluidity of gender become central themes, inviting readers to reconsider how identity is shaped by culture and history.

Virginia Woolf's exquisite prose paints a rich tapestry of a life lived without boundaries, revealing the joys and sorrows that accompany a quest for authenticity. Interwoven with the beauty of language, Orlando's tale serves as a timeless reflection on the human experience, resonating with the desires and complexities that define us all.

This was quite possibly one of the most thought-provoking and interesting books I've ever read. I will admit it took me a little while to get into it. I initially struggled with the biographical style Woolf employed and had to put the book down fir a good while, hence the docked star. However once i was back into it, i finished it in a day. I do have to celebrate this book mostly due to how happy this book made me whilst reading it. Its joyful and romantic description of Orlando's world in turn gave me a far greater appreciation of my own surroundings and experiences, which i shall be forever grateful for. Overall a very good book, just a bit challenging to jump straight into.
