説明

In a world where the pressure of expectations looms large, two teens find solace in each other's company, navigating the tumultuous landscape of adolescence. Their lives revolve around school, family dynamics, and personal identities, each battling their own internal struggles while searching for genuine connection and acceptance. The story beautifully captures the awkwardness, uncertainty, and raw emotions that accompany the teenage experience.

As their friendship deepens, they uncover layers of each other’s lives that reveal shared fears and aspirations. Together, they explore the complexity of their dreams, the weight of societal expectations, and the fear of not meeting them. The characters are crafted with emotional depth, allowing readers to empathize with their journeys of self-discovery, acceptance, and the importance of being true to oneself.

Amidst a backdrop of societal pressures, the narrative invites a reflection on friendship, identity, and the often-overlooked complexities of being a teenager. Through their intertwined tales, they challenge the conventional notions of success and belonging, learning that often, it is the quiet, personal struggles that shape who they truly are.

With thoughtful prose and relatable characters, this story resonates with anyone who has ever felt the burden of expectation or sought authenticity in a world that can feel overwhelmingly noisy. The exploration of themes such as mental health, self-acceptance, and the importance of supportive friendships offers a poignant reminder of the power that connection holds in navigating the often-challenging path of growing up.

After years I wanted to check what that whole fuss is about and to be honest I don't get why this book is so highly praised.Don't get me wrong, it was decent but I wouldn't say I loved it. The exceedingly large amount of "uhm"s, "okay"s and "oh"s was really something im not looking forward to again. On the other hand it was really nice to read about someone experiencing gifted kid burnout. Representation is also a huge plus. I guess I'm on the fence. I liked the overall story but my expectations ruined it a little. Maybe I'm too old for this kind of literature and should have picked it up sooner.
