Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord's daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.
Against her stern father's wishes and society's expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle's laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. すべて表示💉2.75 stars⚡(💌Buddy read with @Rose)I had such high expectations. Everyone said this book was criminally underrated, and it disappointed me.🫰I loved the forensic psychology and science in this! It was so interesting to read about, and I loved how this was based off true events!👍The ending was decent. The plot twist was so predictable, but it was interesting to read.👍Banter was entertaining to read.👌 Limited character growth.👎The storyline was incredibly predictable. I could guess the murderer and what was going to happen next.👎I appreciated the diverse representation, but it was poorly done and repetitively, unnecessarily emphasised. 👎 The romance was so dry and rushed. And he literally accused her 2/3 through the book. How can you be in love with each other if you don't even trust each other?👎I was waiting for a boss fight. Didn't get one. The ending felt a little underwhelming. Explanations are offered by a character coming into the room and lore dumping instead of the FMC figuring it out herself.👎The FMC just keeps on whining every 5 pages. She keeps going on and on about how she's not like other girls -- she doesn't like wearing dresses or makeup, she enjoys learning about corpses, she's capable of this and that and whatnot. I'm all for feminism, but not while we're putting down other girls. She talks about how her cousins are all waiting to get married or dressed in extravagant gowns but she just likes to wear her horse poo rags or whatever.
3⭐It was a good read,Full of suspense and unique plots, I enjoyed the storyline, starting with Audrey Rose and her love of forensics, her quest to discover the identity of Jack the Ripper, and her complex and sweet relationship with Thomas. And I'm proud to have known Jack the Ripper's identity before her
I dont know how to feel about this book , one moment it was good one moment it got annoying one moment I'm at the edge of my seat and then I wanted to smack the fmc face to the wall im confused , but I finished it in a day so it wa good ? ! However, I thought I'll ditch the other books in the series, but I wanna see more of Thomas Creswell and his sarcasm
