The Hotshot is exactly the kind of warm, slow burn charm Piper Rayne does best, and the audiobook takes it even further. The balance of humour, personal growth, and slow building tension is spot on.CJ Bloom pours so much heart into Leighton. You can hear the exhaustion, the determination, the quiet longing woven into every scene. It makes her journey feel deeply real. JF Harding brings Hayes to life with that steady, teasing warmth that turns “pretend” into something undeniably deeper. Their chemistry is hot, believable, and impossible not to root for.The kids (Monroe, hi!) add so much life and softness, and the narrators handle those moments with tenderness instead of chaos making the family scenes land even harder as Hayes naturally becomes part of their world.A comforting, vulnerable, beautifully performed slow burn that is full of heart, humour, and the kind of love that sneaks up on you. ALC and ARC review!!well what an absolutely stunning start to a series. I ate this book up. The narration on this was perfect and just pulled the whole story together and made me feel every emotional the characters felt. The story of Leighton and Hayes is brilliant. Leighton fighting for custody of 3 kids she ended up taking care of through tragedy ends up bringing her the kids and Hayes closer together in more ways than one.This book has me kicking my feet..swooning and longing for the next book in the series.
