説明

- This version of The idiot includes a biography of the author Fyodor Dostoevsky at the end of the book- This includes his life before and after the release of the bookReturning to Russia from a sanitarium in Switzerland, the Christ-like epileptic Prince Myshkin finds himself enmeshed in a tangle of love, torn between two women-the notorious kept woman Nastasya and the pure Aglaia-both involved, in turn, with the corrupt, money-hungry Ganya. In the end, Myshkin's honesty, goodness, and integrity are shown to be unequal to the moral emptiness of those around him. In her revision of the Garnett translation, Anna Brailovsky has corrected inaccuracies wrought by Garnett's drastic anglicization of the novel, restoring as much as possible the syntactical structure of the original story.

Sophisticated topics the signature sign of DostoevskyTo save someone you need to truly love them. Myshkin feels sorry for Nastasya and Rogozin feels passion towards her.Myshkin - JesusRogozin- devilThe only positive woman character in this novel is Vera Lebedeva. It’s always though to read Dostoevsky because he re opens your soul and force you to dig deeper until you start to reflect what a sinner you are. This book also shows how Russian society is sick and is not ready for the second Jesus appearance.
