So firstly, I want to eat every single dish that Holly Black describes. I am dying to try a honeyed cake. Every time this book mentions food, I am desperate to make the same meal. Alas, I am a rubbish cook. I found this book pretty slow going, I think from being such a romantasy reader, I do have to remind myself that actually these books are more political dramas - I think advertising/TikTok etc suggests more that it's the other genre! However I did love the moments between Jude and Cardan, her confusion about her feelings flicking back and forth - they felt SO realistic! I wasn't as gripped by this book as the first, but the ENDING? YES!! Onto the next!

I love Holly Blacks writing and characters so much!The plot twists in this book had me on the edge of my seat and I read this book (and the next book) in one night.Obsessed and I will not take criticism.
