Time Gate

This is a short story.

East Berlin, behind the wall. Back before Reagan exhorted Gorbachev to tear it down. Back when there was a true, physical meaning to the term "the dark side". He wanted out. More than anything else in his dark, gray life. Out. Into the bright freedom of The West. Difficult, but not impossible. The trick was, how did he get his Anna out with him? That was nearly impossible, the way the Stasi watched them.

Then a portal in the wall opened for just the briefest of time. Could they squeek through before it slammed shut again?
