Verlost

This is my guilty pleasure series! I have to admit, as much as I am doing a re read of this series, I never read this book or the previous book, when I read the series the first time. (They weren't out yet). This is actually a 3.5 star rating. Now as much as I ADORE this series, the ending was such a let down. These books have book specific sub-plots with basically a never changing main plot, 'theres a villain, defeat them'. The issue is after 12 books, the battle to defeat the villain was a let down. There were too many thing that conveniently helped the ending. Again people died and some it was just brushed over. The epilogue was unsatisfying and the sheer amount of loose ends from characters and subplots either not tied up, or just never touched on again, infuriated me.But with all that. Its still a satisfying and nostalgic series. I will still probably re read again in the future. I probably will have a look at the spin offs and see if they're worth it too.

Just finished rereading the House of Night by P. C. Cast and Kristin Cast — and yup… STILL my second favorite vampire series 😮‍💨🖤 Because this series really said: “Vampires… but make it dramatic, spiritual, messy, emotional, and lowkey chaotic.” 😭 And honestly? It works. What I loved most is that the whole good vs evil thing isn’t simple here. People mess up. “Good” characters make terrible choices. “Bad” characters sometimes make sense. Nothing is completely black and white — and that made the story way more interesting. And Zoey?? Girl is out here trying to survive teen drama, relationship chaos, magical destiny, AND save the world at the same time 😭 Like ma’am barely has time to emotionally recover before another apocalypse arrives 💀 The friendships, betrayals, romance, drama — everything is SO over-the-top teenage chaos and somehow that’s exactly why it’s addictive. Genres (aka what this vampiric madness is): 🩸 Vampire fantasy chaos 🔥 Teen drama × save-the-world energy 🖤 Morally grey good vs evil ✨ Magical school vibes 💋 Romance + betrayal overload ⚡ Chosen one but emotionally exhausted 😮‍💨 “Why is everyone making bad decisions” fiction Verdict: Dramatic, emotional, messy, iconic. Not subtle. Not calm. Absolutely addictive 😌
