When Ruben Martell met Alan Hartner, they clicked. Fast friends though their stint in the Major Leagues, things fell apart one night when they stepped over the foul line, blurring the boundaries of friendship and something else. Left struggling with heartache and guilt, they turned from each other and focused on their families.

Now they're both single fathers, retired from baseball and running a batting cage together while coaching rival Little League teams. Ruben has never given up hope that Alan might look at him as more than a friend, but Alan seems determined to keep things the way they've been.

But long-buried feelings have a way of coming to the surface and Alan may have to take a risk or face losing Ruben forever.
