Anders und doch fesselnd. Interessante Handlung und tolle Charaktere. Typisch Sanderson
i don't even know where to begin.
there were things i loved about this book (yumi and painter), and things i hated (the narrator. i literally do not care that you were a coat rack). there were times where reading this felt so slow and arduous (part one), and times where i could sit and read for an hour without even noticing (parts three and four).
it got to a point where i genuinely had no idea what the hell was going on, but... i didn't care. i was so invested in what happened to yumi and painter and their world that i didn't need to understand every detail. the physics of their universe became secondary to their little love story. i was truly running off vibes and emotional attachment by the end, and somehow that worked for me.
A 3.5 read for meIt took a long time to get into it, like I was 65% of the way through and kept wondering when something big was going to happen. I also felt that the world building was great, but the characters seemed to be lacking something... that being said, I feel like the epilogues Definitely saved this book for me.I did cry, laugh, and LOVE the characters, so that's a plus for sure.
