설명

In a society that often disregards women's struggles, the poignant narrative of a woman born in 1982, Ji-young Kim, unfolds. This tale reflects the myriad challenges she faces, capturing the essence of her day-to-day battles against societal norms and expectations. As Ji-young navigates the complexities of her life, she experiences a whirlwind of emotions—fear, exhaustion, confusion, and frustration—that highlight the often-ignored realities of Korean womanhood.

The story paints a vivid picture of Ji-young's life, interweaving her personal experiences with the collective history of women in South Korea. The author delves into the pressures that surround her, from familial responsibilities to societal judgment, revealing the silent struggles that so many endure. Ji-young's journey is both heartbreaking and relatable, striking a chord with readers who recognize the weight of these burdens.

As the narrative progresses, it challenges entrenched perceptions of gender roles and expectations. Through Ji-young's eyes, readers witness the subtle yet profound ways in which culture influences identity and self-worth. The exploration of her internal and external conflicts invites a deeper understanding of the feminist issues that persist in contemporary society.

Ultimately, this evocative story calls for empathy and awareness, shedding light on the nuanced experiences of women. Ji-young Kim’s narrative serves as both a personal exploration and a social commentary that resonates beyond cultural borders, fostering a broader conversation about gender equality and the ongoing struggle for recognition and respect.

Listen idk if my period's coming up or if it's bc i've been really emotional today (or maybe it's just the hidden trauma in me as a woman) but i almost cried TWICE while listening to the book. I have so much rage and sadness in me and idk if it'll ever be soothed.
