설명

Set against the backdrop of a magical forest in ancient Athens, this enchanting story unfolds with a playful mix of love, confusion, and comedy. Shakespeare weaves together the lives of four young lovers embroiled in a tussle of affection, under the mischievous influence of Puck and the powerful fairy Oberon. As romantic entanglements spiral into chaos, the boundaries between reality and illusion blur, leading to whimsical encounters and mistaken identities.

Amidst the love-struck mortals, a group of amateur actors known as the "Mechanicals" prepare their own hilariously misguided performance. Their earnest efforts serve as a delightful counterpoint to the unfolding drama, offering moments of levity that balance the enchantment and heartache experienced by the lovers. The contrast between the whimsical and the serious highlights the absurdity of love and the follies of human desire.

Rich in poetic language and timeless themes, the play captures the spirit of youthful exuberance and the complexities of love, making it one of Shakespeare’s most beloved works. The intertwining lives of its characters resonate with universal truths, reminding readers of the transformative power of love and the unpredictable nature of happiness.

I disliked this enough to forget to mark it as read. This one really was too annoying with its depiction of "love" and women that I was just having a terrible time pushing through very questionable thought processes and dialogues. It's disappointing since I thought this could be a new favorite (given my love for fairies/fae folk since childhood)
