Disturbing, explicit, entertaining, this book is full of shock waves that hit you a little bit too fast so you start sympathizing with the morally gray narrator long before you realize what it entails. Although it is a horror novel, After Midnight makes you wonder about several moral questions. What if it happened to me? to you? Would you go the lengths Alice had gone or less or maybe more. I don't know. Self preservation is probably the strongest human drive and an excellent motif for a horror novel. Happy Reading
