Awakening

Set amongst the scientific establishments of Southern England, astrophysicist Piers Sterling; his wife, Dawn; son, Alastair; and daughter Lora are reluctantly drawn into helping archaeologist Phoebe Keyes recover a mysterious ancient artefact with super-human properties, which went missing after being secretly examined by Piers’ recently deceased brother Magnus. Their struggle to uncover the crown’s cryptic link to humanity’s past and future becomes a frantic race against time before the enigmatic Noah Hunter, or the increasingly desperate rogue government operative, Marcus Tempest, can steal it from them. Meanwhile, something has caused a breach between the ethereal and corporeal dimensions, and kindred spirits are drawn into the developing crisis. As astronomers detect an object heading directly for Earth threatening mass extinction, the Sterlings are forced to confront the power orchestrating all these events in order to uncover the dark secret of mankind’s genetic evolution.
