Beloved in the Underworld

Queen Hades stole a maiden for her wedding bed. Now her bride demands a reckoning.

People have always called Hades a villain. She’s the dread queen of the Underworld, its absolute ruler and final arbiter; folk should fear to whisper her name. But a scandalous new song has gods and mortals alike labeling her a kidnapper, a defiler, and urging Persephone to leave her.

Rumors can’t tarnish Persephone’s love. But Hades is keeping secrets, claiming no remorse for her vile deeds and forcing Persephone to excavate wounds long-buried. As a rift grows between them, the land pays the price, their hostilities warping the Underworld’s delicate magics.

Hades aches to possess Persephone completely, but every honest word risks revealing she’s no better than the brutes she’s imprisoned in Tartarus. And though Persephone still yearns for Hades’ touch, if she cannot bring Hades to absolution, conscience demands she abandon the failing Underworld and its controlling queen.

Can Hades bare her soul and surrender the truth, or will she lose the Underworld’s light and the only goddess who could revive both her realm and her heart?
