It seems that what people don’t like most is actually what I loved most about this one. Admittedly I only picked it up because last September, in an effort to work through my to be read pile and donate those that didn’t work for me, I finally got around to The Woman in Black thinking that it would be an okay read, I’d send it on and I’d move on. This assumption was based purely on the movies and entirely unfair. Serves me right because I loved it. So when I saw Susan Hill’s name I didn’t think twice...She put the readers into the minds of seemingly random characters for a chapter or two, it's not all police all the time. I have the next book in the series beside me quoting Hill: “It’s the psychology of crime that absorbs me.” I think I’m going to enjoy this series. 5 stars.
