설명

E. Annie Proulx paints a vivid portrait of life in Wyoming through a series of interconnected stories that explore the rugged landscape and the people who inhabit it. Each character is brought to life with rich detail, showcasing their struggles, triumphs, and the indelible marks left by the unforgiving environment. From ranchers contending with the elements to outsiders searching for belonging, the narratives weave a complex tapestry of human emotion and resilience.

Throughout these tales, Proulx captures the essence of the American West, highlighting the beauty and brutality of nature. The starkness of the setting serves as both backdrop and character, influencing the fates of those who call Wyoming home. With sharp wit and profound insight, she delves into themes of love, loss, and the unrelenting pursuit of dreams, leaving readers with a deeper understanding of the frontier spirit that drives the inhabitants of this extraordinary land.

Okay, The Brokeback film is one of the greatest pieces of LGBT cinema but this short story had some of the worst writing I’ve ever seen

Not a huge fan of this book to be perfectly honest. It felt rushed and too short. There were some parts that gave so much feeling and emotion and I wish she would turn this into a novel with more character development.
