설명

Elisha, a young Jewish man shaped by the horrors of the Holocaust, finds himself in the midst of a critical struggle for his people's freedom in British-controlled Palestine. As he grapples with his traumatic past and the weight of his newfound responsibilities, he navigates the complexities of identity, morality, and the conflicting demands of vengeance and compassion. The shadows of his past loom large, compelling him to make choices that will define his life and the lives of those around him.

Amidst the turmoil of a nation in upheaval, Elisha's journey challenges him to confront not only external conflicts but also the internal battles that rage within. The narrative explores themes of hope, despair, and the quest for meaning in a world marked by suffering. As he seeks to forge a new path for himself and his people, the young freedom fighter becomes a symbol of resilience in the face of overwhelming odds.

I absolutely love, Eli Wiesel's writing style. This book absolutely was amazing and I'm so glad I finally picked it up and read it. I had to read his first book night back in high school and I fell in love with his story and everything that he had to go through with his sister and his mother and a parents. So hearing this fictional version of what he thought or what he imagined life to be like through this book is absolutely amazing. I thought of myself sitting here at 1:00 a.m. in the morning reading it and finishing it by 1:30 a.m. in the morning. Like are you kidding me?
