First off it ended terrible like they didn't even finish the story and there was just so much missing in the story to

Spoiler3.5 stars - not quite a 4, but 3 feels harsh. At first, I really enjoyed the story and characters. You're thrown into a tense situation, it's been over a year since the island has been quarantined and the students and teachers have had to create a "new normal". Their bodies have changed in unimaginable ways, they've lost friends and struggle to survive. The first half is great, but the second half feels rushed and unfinished. There are loose ends with no explanation, which is odd given the main characters are searching for the truth. The story becomes about the journey and experiences, which isn't "enough". It's a book that leaves you wanting much more.

WHAT THE FUCK this book had so much potential and was so fun to read and then it's like it just trailed off with no answers like she literally just gave up wtf is there a sequel or something??I liked the characters and the romance was subtle and cutewhy did they just leave all the other girls??

Meh. Wasn't the best book I have read. Yes it was good and I read the whole thing but the ending was a let down.

This was a bit of a struggle. I didn't connect with the characters and it was all a bit too depressing. "We don't get to choose what hurts us."

Let me start with saying, this cover is stunning. It really captures the eerie vibe of the book.I know not everyone will like the body horror element in this, but it was the most compelling part of the whole book for me. I thought Rory Powers descriptions of the Tox was done well. The writing style in general was great, and the book was fast paced. What brought my rating down was the characters. I could not connect with them and didn't find them complex enough. I liked the sapphic romance being included, and I would have had more of a problem if there wasn't any queer relationships represented, but I felt no chemistry between the main romance of the book. I felt the relationship between Hetty and Byatt was more engaging than Hetty and Reese. The ending was what really ruined the book for me though. I usually like open endings, if their purpose is to make you think. The ending to Wilder Girls felt more like the author forgot to write the last chapter. Overall, I thought the concept was great, but the execution didn't work for me.
