Found: One Son

Originally published by Harlequin. Michael Molina fell in love with Emmie Kenyon in the plaza of the Central American town of San Pablo. Emmie was spending the year teaching at the local elementary school through a church-sponsored program. Michael had returned from California to his father’s native village to help a bounty hunter track down a bail jumper. Instantly smitten with beautiful, gentle Emmie, Michael promised himself he’d tell Emmie why he was in town once the elusive criminal had been found and sent back to California. But the mission went awry, and Michael was spirited out of the country before he could reach Emmie.

Five years later, Michael hires Maggie Tyrell of the “Finders, Keepers” detective agency to track down Emmie for him. He needs to apologize to her for breaking his promise in San Pablo and disappearing as he did. Maggie warns him that after so much time, Emmie has undoubtedly gotten on with her life, maybe married and started a family. Michael is prepared for that probability.

But he isn’t prepared to find playing, in the front yard of Emmie’s house, a little boy who looks exactly like him.
