Halfhyde On Zanatu

Lieutenant St Vincent Halfhyde RN accepts an opportunity to join a squadron in the Far East ordered to quash a rebellion on the Polynesian island of Zanatu. His first skirmishes with the native rebels are somewhat disastrous. For the natives, controlled by a human deity known as "John Frumm" recently and mysteriously come among them, are armed with British weapons and are determined to outface the British naval party. But news of the troubles on Zanatu has also been picked up by a long-standing enemy of Halfhyde's - Admiral Prince Gorsinski, whose armed Czarist battleships are hot on his trail. Zanatu's position is crucial, and Halfhyde's own is no he and his modest torpedo-boat destroyer are neatly caught between the bloodthirsty natives on land and the heavy Russian guns at sea.
