⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Hollow Child is a gut-wrenching follow-up in the Hollows series. We return to the POVs of original characters like Remy, Boden, Max, and Stella, with a few pop-in moments from Lazlo and Harlow.I loved being back in Remy’s perspective and getting to see her growth, as well as how her relationships with Ripley and her found family have continued to develop. I especially loved the little tidbit of Lazlo and Remy reconnecting. At the same time, though, I couldn’t help feeling like something was missing. Some of the buildup and scenes seemed to hint at unresolved tension and feelings between them, only for that thread to ultimately go by the wayside.This was the darkest addition to the series yet, with more than one character death that had me completely reeling and heartbroken. Stella also brought such a unique voice to the story, and the changes she goes through are intriguing, to say the least.I’m excited to continue the series with Book 5 and learn more about the virus, the zombies, and how everyone will manage the fallout from this ending.Tropes: zombies, survival, horror, romantic horror, grief, trauma & PTSD, found family, lion companion
