Ice T didn't merely invent it, he lived it. His is the face of L.A. hip-hop. Selling over 10 million records worldwide and touring extensively in America, Europe, Japan, South America, and Australia from 1987 to the present, Ice T informed world viewers through his distinctive brand of hard-core rap about the troubled state of his hometown, South Central, long before the L.A. riots ignited. The debut of his now infamous metal band, Body Count, on 1991's successful Lollapalooza tour earned him over-whelming critical acclaim, and thousands of new fans, nationwide. In addition, he has starred in numerous feature films, including New Jack City, Ricochet, and Trespass. As rap's most articulate spokesman, the influential artist was chosen by Rolling Stone readers as 1992's Best Male Rapper. He continues to appear on television panels to speak out on racism, censorship, and other volatile issues. Ice T lives in Los Angeles, California, and The Ice Opinion is his first book.
