There’s a wild animal loose in New Gotham. It’s stalking the city and killing indiscriminately.
Who has time to care? No, really. Who has the bloody time to worry with such nonsense? With the exception of its owner, Elsa the Troll, Soraya is Bits and Pieces' sole employee. Busy, busy, so damn busy. Still, working for a troll isn’t as bad as you’d think. There are brownies, pixies, and the hot vampire-thing that Elsa is going to marry come winter—it’s almost a little family. Not that it matters much. Soraya's days in New Gotham are numbered. She’s leaving…tomorrow.
Nick is malametal telekinetic country boy stalking the streets shoulder to shoulder with monsters. Oh, and he’s New Gotham’s only coffin maker. That’s right, you’d think he’d be rich. Well, he was once upon a time. Now, there’s nothing but red bank notes and the angry gaggle of medusi coming to kill him any day now. Call it retribution for a drinking problem gone unchecked for a little too long. (There might have been some gambling. But really, who can remember?)
Wanna know what his biggest problem is?
Her.
Soraya is hell on earth. They’ve been at this for years—the break up, the makeup, the break up. Now with the city-wide curfew making avoidance much more difficult than it should be, it seems the pattern is doomed to repeat itself. Well, damn that—he’s not fittin’ to let that kitty escape his chains this time. Not without a good, long, hard…fight.
