I really enjoyed this book, it's a Historical Romance like no other I have read ... I give it 4 1/2 stars. Lord Ian Mackenzie is 'mad' he spent much of his youth in an asylum where they tried to 'cure' him of his afflictions with torture. Lord Ian, never forgets and he can play a piano piece by hearing it just once. Widow, Beth Ackerley, recently was bequeathed a large amount of money from her previous employers. Engaged to a man who Lord Ian informs her is a scoundrel and after her money, she flees to Paris instead of accepting Lord Ian's marriage proposal. Lord Ian Mackenzie follows her to Paris. I credit Jennifer Ashley for giving us a truly lovable character with Asperger`s. Many of my favorite Historical romance hero's are the flawed and seeming nonredeemable, those that are 'perfect' just don't seem to grab my attention and love like Lord Madness.
