Ann Pilling has gathered a collection of tales from around the globe that includes different genres and voices and that introduce a variety of cultural experiences. Among the great tales included are the Greek myths of Persephone and King Midas, the Norse myth The Death of Balder, the Celtic myth The Unicorn, the Native American Iroquois myth Naming the Winds, and a West African legend Iyadola's Babies that explains why the Earth Mother's children are so many different colors.
