Kleinzahler wouldn't approve. Which is to say that if you like freewheeling and loose musical reviews with a good amount of musical knowledge attached, this is a great read. Each one's culled from a column he had with a San Diego weekly. You can hop around from one review to the next in no chronological order. He covers a lot of musical territory, too--- everything from the Louvin Brothers and Glenn Gould to Ivor Cutler, Carl Stalling and Muddy Waters.

Also one of my longtime favorite poets.
