설명
As Wade delves deeper into the OASIS, he faces not only the thrill of the chase but also formidable rivals and powerful corporations determined to seize control. Along the way, he forms unexpected friendships and navigates the complexities of loyalty and ambition, all while challenging the limits of both worlds—virtual and real. The stakes rise as he realizes that the quest for the Easter egg could ultimately determine the fate of the OASIS and perhaps even his own future.
In a world where identity and connection can feel transient, Wade's journey becomes a gripping exploration of courage, nostalgia, and the essence of what it means to truly live. The boundaries between the virtual realm and real life blur, leading him to confront what he values most and who he really is beyond the screens.

Second reading, but I don't see my first read through...Real rating: 3.5The first quarter of this book put a sour taste in my mouth with Wade's incredibly downer attitude, religion bashing, and the douchy-ness of all of the male characters in that first quarter of the story. I could excuse the downer attitude and religion bashing since it helps set the tone of the deteriorating world, but the douchy characters made me want to nope right out. (Officially not bothering to read my copy of Armada.)This didn't continue through most of the book though. All of it was just tools Cline used to set scene for the reader. Unfortunately I ended up getting stuck with continual info dumping through the WHOLE DAMN BOOK. That's just poor writing man. Sure, we had to be walked through the clues and why they were what they were, but a good writer should've been able to figure out how to show at least SOME of that info instead of telling it all in huge diatribes that completely diverted from the action. All that said? I enjoyed this book for the most part. This book was an homage to the 80s and classic gaming and I definitely had fun from that aspect. The story itself was imaginative and fun with a few meaningful themes.I'm not worried about keeping this book, but I am going to get my stepdad to read it - I feel like he may really appreciate it. 😊
The movie was much different but I liked them both equally
Couldnt stand it at all so DNF at 20%
One of my Favourite books of all time. Worth a read.
