Sight Reading Snippets Level 5

This sight reading series by Peggy O'Dell offers a new and unique approach to teaching sight reading. Each level comprises two the "Student Practice Book" and the "Teacher's Test Book" and are correlated to the MTAC Certificate of MeritTM Syllabus.

The "Student Practice Book" consists of short assignments based on a certain concept at the student's level. When the student has played their assignment for the teacher without mistakes, the teacher gives them a short sight reading snippet from the "Teacher's Test Book". Since the student has never seen the pieces from the "Teacher's Test Book", this ensures that the student is truly sight reading. This takes about 4 or 5 minutes of the lesson.

The "Teacher's Test Books" contain several levels in one Prep A, Prep B and level 1 are in one book, levels 2, 3 and 4 are in one book, and levels 5 and 6 are in one book. When the teachers buy the"Student Practice Books" for the first time, it is necessary to also purchase a "Teacher's Test Book" to correlate with the appropriate student level.
