설명

Agosto 2004.

I'm surprised the average rating of this is so low. I LOVED this book. I genuinely feel like this book is now in my top 5 21st century novels. After writing genre fiction with a literary flare for the previous decade, Chabon kinda returns to straight up literary fiction... but with a Chabonesque vibe. It's not the realist fiction of Wonder Boys, it's like if Wonder Boys and Kavalier & Clay had a 40 year old hipster kid. Franzen is the kind of guy that wears jeans, dress shirt, and a vintage blazer to a party. Michael Chabon seems like he'd show up in ripped jeans, flip flops, and smelling like weed (I could be wrong, but that's the feeling I get from all the books I've read by him). This is a big book with lots of fun characters, prose that come alive, a million pop culture references, and lots of storylines that Chabon does a fantastic job of tying together and up.Overall, a very fun read, but maybe best enjoyed if a Chabon fan already.
