설명

Kiva’s journey unfolds as she transitions from the grim confines of a deadly prison to the ornate but treacherous halls of a palace filled with secrets. Once a skilled healer with a fierce will to survive, Kiva finds herself caught in a web of political intrigue and hidden agendas. The palace, with all its dazzling beauty, hides dark truths that threaten not only her life but the lives of those she has come to care about.

As Kiva navigates this new environment, she faces the challenge of balancing her instincts of survival against her desire for connection and freedom. In this gilded cage, trust is a rare commodity, and every alliance could be a potential betrayal. The characters she encounters are a mix of allies and enemies, each pushing her to question her previous understanding of loyalty and power.

With the stakes rising higher and dangers lurking at every corner, Kiva must harness her strength and wit to break free from the invisible chains that bind her. Her determination to escape both her past and her present becomes a battle not just for her own freedom but for the futures of countless others entangled in the palace's deceptive charm.

This book might not have been my perfect match, but it could very well be yours! In the beginning, the book grabbed me. It launched with promise, piquing my interest and setting me up for a thrilling ride. But as I kept reading, it began to feel like a drag - the pace got slower, and the spark started to fade.A series should keep its reader hooked from cover to cover, not just drop a bombshell of action in the final act to set up the sequel. Don't get me wrong, I'm here for an explosive climax, but the rest of the journey should be just as good. Our protagonist is a tangled web of mystery. This is a character with a heavy dose of complexity, yet her decisions left me scratching my head. She's painted as a logical thinker, yet her choices often felt out of sync with that. To be frank, the disconnect was a little frustrating.Even though this book and I didn't quite click, there's no denying the craftsmanship in the writing. I just don’t think I’ll continue to read the series. For more reviews and book recommendations, check out my YouTube channel
